2007-2008 Theatre Schedule-

  • October 18,19,20 - Into the Woods
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
    Book by James Lapine
    Directed by Diane DeFranco-Kling

This magical, imaginative adventure leads the audience on a fascinating journey of self-discovery. A childless baker and his wife, cursed by a wicked witch, go into the woods to rid themselves of her evil spell. There they encounter Cinderella, her Prince, Little Red Ridinghood, the Wolf, Jack the Giant Killer, Rapunzel, and other fairy tale characters who have wishes of their own to be fulfilled. Brilliantly written, this musical is both hilariously funny and heart-wrenchingly tender.

  • Nov. 30, Dec. 1 - A Piece of My Heart
    By Shirley Lauro
    Directed by Lauren Peck

Six American women--five nurses and one country/western singer, take the audience on an emotional journey as they tell of their experiences before, during, and after their time in Viet Nam. Each, though different in terms of upbringing, has her own important story to tell. The truth of the matter is that all six are linked to the war not only by their presence or occupation, but more so by what was left behind.

"There have been a number of plays dealing with Viet Nam, but none with the direct, emotional impact of Ms. Lauro's work." N.Y. Times.

  • February 14,15,16 - As You Like It
    By William Shakespeare
    Directed by Gordon Kling

In one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies we see Rosalind who flees the danger of Court and with Celia and Orlando arrives at the Forest of Arden seeking her banished father. There they confront the hazards of love and for Rosalind the inner workings of her own heart. Jesters, Dukes, lovers, song and brilliant language abound as we are reminded that “All the world’s a stage. . . .”

  • March 28,29 - Rumors
    By Neil Simon
    Directed by Terrance Volden

Rumors is a tale of four couples who gather to celebrate a tenth wedding anniversary of their best friends. When they arrive, they discover there are no servants, the hostess is missing, and the host has shot himself through the earlobe. His lawyer's cover up gets progressively more difficult to sustain as the other guests arrive and nobody can remember who has been told what about whom. Doors slam and hilarity abounds as the couples get more and more crazed.
