From the northeast, one can see the massive amount of additional shoring that has been erected around the north end of Cooper Hall. Note the anchors to the bottom left.

These helical soil anchors on the west side provide additional support for the north end of Cooper. There are also anchors on the north and east sides. Each anchor has a pull-out capacity of 15,000 lbs (6800 kg)!

Eby has begun placing plastic sheeting over part of the scaffolding so work can continue through the Kansas winter. The propane tank in the foreground will be used to keep the temperature inside the sheeting at least 40 degrees Fahrenheit (approx. 4 degrees Celsius).
