This is one of the four beams made with laminated veneer lumber (LVL) that run the length of the third floor on the north end of Cooper and hold the floor up after the wall beneath it fell in August.

Long J-bolts (with the red-orange caps) are used to fasten the LVL beams to the floor joists underneath. While installing the beams, workers hung from the ceiling in harnesses.

Bracing holds up the second floor wall on the south end of Cooper after its counterpart on the north end fell in August.
